I was born and raised in Westchester, New York. I have two younger brothers; the role of the leader and role model was forced upon me very early. However, this role and its responsibilities have taught me many things and have shaped the person I have become.
Before I entered pre-school, I aspired to be a dermatologist. I became interested in pharmacy during my senior year of high school. I took a job as a pharmacy technician, my first job besides babysitting. I realized I wasn't passionate about working in pharmacy; I didn't want a career that I didn't enjoy.
I attended Binghamton University for my undergraduate education. Binghamton University is ranked among the elite public university in the nation and was very competitive. I was told during orientation that one out of 15 applicants are accepted, I was extremely proud of myself.
I am a very creative person. By my sophomore year at Binghamton University, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I can use my creative ability and realized I wanted to major in marketing. However, transferring into the business school at Binghamton University would mean staying an extra year as an undergraduate student. I had taken a geography course with a great professor, Professor Reisinger. I enjoyed it so much that I pursued a geography major. I realized that geography and marketing have a lot to do with each other. I had taken population and demographic studies courses, urban planning, and retail geography. Retail geography was the class that really had an impact on my career path. I learned how site and location as well as demographics can affect the feasibility of a business or product.
The professor who taught my first geography course is the head of the geography department, my honor's thesis advisor, and my mentor throughout my undergraduate college career. I turned to Professor Reisinger for career advice. By my senior year, during the recession, there weren't and still aren't many opportunities. I was advised to attend graduate school. I earned my MBA in Marketing Management at Pace University in 2012 and started working as a research analyst at a media agency. My current role in consumer insights has been a great an invaluable learning experience - everyday is different and conducting consumer research for various and well known clients has been a pleasure.
I envision myself with a career I truly enjoy and am passionate about. Work is just one focus in my life; I am passionate about living a life dedicated to integrity, commitment, challenge, and fun. I value close family and friends, I enjoy discovering and trying new recipes to cook, and I love traveling to experience various cultures.
